Legal Experience:

Benjamin F. Edwards brings more than forty (40) years of legal experience, knowledge, and wisdom to cases that he handles. He is a former Ecclesiastic Judge in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Inc., and has deliberated and ruled on complex and challenging church issues impacting people, property, and institutions from all over the world.

Attorney Edwards is a former Illinois Assistant Attorney General (Child Support and Lien Collection) and Special Assistant Attorney General (Eminent Domain), former Chairman of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness for the Fifth Appellate District, and former NAACP Legal Redress Chairman. In addition, he has served as a municipal corporation counsel, township attorney, village attorney, fire and police board attorney, special city prosecutor, school board attorney, church attorney, and adjunct criminal Justice instructor.

Community, Church, and Bar Association Activities:

Attorney Edwards is active in his church, community and bar association. His involvement includes an officer and ministry leader in his local, conference, district, and national church,  a member of Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc. (Legal Aid) Board of Directors, bar association president, state bar association committee chairman, and service on the board of several other community and charitable organization.
